HUNTING AND FISHING
Hunting and fishing are activities that have always been carried out in the valley and that are compatible with its acceptance as World Heritage, as they are traditional activities that do not put the values of the place in danger. They are leisure time activities, governed by the same laws and regulations that are applied in the rest of Andorra.
Almost all the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley is currently considered to be common hunting land in which hunting can be done without any limitations other than those established by the Law on hunting and any complementary regulations, during the days that are set each year by means of a ministerial order.
As far as fishing is concerned, at present the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley has water masses that are classified as “Free water for fishing” in which this activity can be carried out without any limitations other than those established by the Law and regulations on fishing and the dispositions that develop or complement them, and are not subject to any particular regime. The fish that can be caught belong to the Salmonidae family (brown trout, rainbow trout and brook trout) and another species that is also authorised is the common frog (Rana temporaria).
In the information booth of Engolasters Lake you can purchase your fishing license and / or fishing boundary permits.
Article 11 of the Management Plan indicates that:
